Reintroducing Markus Sebastiano: A Vision for 2025

Updated: Mar 6

Markus Sebastiano has always been a force in the contemporary art scene, known for his unique vintage future style. As we step further into 2025, it’s time to take a look at what he’s been up to, the milestones he’s hit, and where he’s headed next.

A Year of Momentum

2024 was a defining year for Sebastiano. In September, he was named one of the Top 25 North Shore Influencers of 2024 by North Shore Magazine, recognizing his impact on the regional art and culture scene. His work continued to push creative boundaries, attracting attention from collectors, brands, and institutions alike. Whether through large-scale commissions, immersive installations, or his signature mixed-media techniques, Sebastiano’s art remained a catalyst for conversation and connection.

One standout moment was his TIDAL series, inspired by time spent along the shore. This foray into abstract art allowed Sebastiano to capture the calming essence of the sea and horizon, resonating deeply with audiences and marking an evolution in his creative journey. You can read more about the inspiration behind this series in JOURney Magazine.

Where Art Meets Purpose

Sebastiano has always seen art as a bridge—one that connects different generations, backgrounds, and ideas. His work at The Blochaus Gallery continues to foster collaboration within the creative community, providing a platform for both emerging and established artists. The gallery’s influence extended beyond its walls in 2024, with a standout showcase at Kaskades Miami during Art Basel and Miami Art Week, featuring artists Blind Fox and Felipe Ortiz.

Beyond the gallery, Sebastiano’s work continues to find a home in corporate and private collections. He recently completed his full lobby series at MUSE Hotel NYC.

At Munters Corp (Amesbury, MA), he created abstract artwork inspired by the company’s organic materials, blending innovation with artistic expression. Additionally, he collaborated with Andrew Bablo from Steez Design on custom-cut signage, further expanding his creative reach. His work can also be found in private collections across the South Shore, Austin, TX, and Los Angeles, CA—further proving that contemporary art isn’t confined to galleries but belongs in boardrooms, public spaces, and homes where storytelling takes center stage.

Looking Ahead: The Vision for 2025

So, what’s next? Sebastiano continues to push creative boundaries, experimenting with new materials and techniques while developing a minimalist abstract contemporary series. He plans to debut a complete collection at Blochaus Gallery this spring.

His upcoming projects span across the U.S. and beyond. He’ll be heading to Aruba to create custom artwork for a new restaurant, designing bespoke pieces for a private penthouse in New York City’s West Village, and collaborating with SMYTH Cannabis Co. on two new retail locations in Massachusetts.

Expect more large-scale installations, deeper explorations of abstract art, and collaborations that redefine the traditional art space. One highly anticipated project is his second collaboration with rapper/actor Slaine and producer Statik Selektah on their new album cover artwork. This partnership will also include a limited-edition series of 100 embellished prints.
